			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ethan Pack is an independent writer and translator. He has translated <em>Survival</em> by Uri S. Cohen from Hebrew to English. <em>Survival</em> deals with Hebrew and Italian literature between the world wars. </p>
<p>In the fall, Pack will begin a PhD in Comparative Literature at UCLA. </p>
<p>Pack has interned at <em><a href="http://www.charlierose.com/">The Charlie Rose Show</a></em>. Pack graduated with honors from Columbia University in 2008, with a degree in Comparative Literature. Pack is fluent in Arabic and Hebrew, and has lived abroad in Israel and Morocco, and traveled extensively in the Palestinian Territories, Jordan, Egypt, and Europe. In New York, Pack has worked at the <a href="http://www.cfr.org/">Council on Foreign Relations</a> as a researcher and translator, and at the <em><a href="http://www.nypost.com/">New York Post</a></em> as an editorial assistant. In Israel, Pack interned at the newspaper <em><a href="http://www.haaretz.com/">Ha&#8217;aretz</a></em> in 2004 and 2006, translating, editing, and writing for the paper&#8217;s online English Edition. He has long been an activist in causes for Israeli-Arab co-existence, as well as minority rights, pluralism, and community development in Israel. Pack was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. In his spare time, Pack writes fiction and plays.</p>
